PESTICIDAL EFFICIENCY OF SOME FUMIGANTS AGAINST CERTAIN STORED PRODUCT PESTS

Abstract
Five fumigants t.e. P. dichlorobenzene; Acrylonitril , Carbon disulfide, Ethylene dichloride and phosphine were evaluated for their fumigant toxicity against the stored grain insects Ti-iboliwn castaneum, 7/·ogoderma granarium and Callosobruchus maculatus. The study aimed to bring the use of these ' fumigants to proper standards of safety and cflicacy from the point view of reducing the dosage, explosion and improving the toxicity. The aitn was achieved through the conect use, util'izing the joint action of fumigant mixtures and interactive effects of phosphine and modified atmosphere. Results obtained were statistically analyzed and discussed.
