Abstract


Endoscopic diagnosis of esophagitis is invariably acceptable if gross abnonnalities of the esophageal mucosa , such as erosions or ulcerations
are present, where as non specific findings at endoscopy such as erythema , granularity , or friability are not considered reliable markers of esophagitis.
