Different Modalities in Management of Neuropathic Ulcer in Diabetic Foot Patients

Dr. Mamdouh Moustafa Khalil;

Abstract

Neuropathic diabetic foot ulcers present a serious
complication to the diabetic population that can
ultimately result in major amputation of the lower limb.
Moreover diabetic foot problems impose a
socioeconomic burden. There for prevention early
detection and proper management of Diabetic foot
ulcers are of most importance. This is the responsibility
of both the patient and health care systems alike.
All patients with diabetes should have a thorough
foot examination at least annually; those with risk
factors (neuropathy, a history of ulcers, vascular
disease, or foot deformities) require more frequent
monitoring. Patients with sensory loss require specific
care and should be educated regarding foot care.
