Abstract


The thalassemia syndromes and iron deficiency anemia are the most frequent and overlapping causes of microcytic hypochronic anemias in Egypt El-beshlawy and co workers estimated the prevalence of b thalassemia among the general Egyptian population to be 13% extensive surgery on the frequency and molecular types have been carried out in several Mediterranean countries.
