Aimofthestudy:
Thecurrentstudyaimedtoassessthefactorsassociatedwithaccidentsamongolderadult.
SubjectsandMethods:
I.ResearchDesign.
Thisisadescriptiveanalyticalstudywillbeusedinordertoexplorethefactorsleadingtoaccidentsinolderadult.
2-ResearchSetting.
The study was conducted at geriatric outpatient clinic of Ain shams University Hospital as it is considered a medical center which provideshealth care for a largesector of older adult in all over Cairogovernorate.
3-ResearchSubjects.
Apurposefulsamplewasusedfromtheprementionedsetting,withatotalnumberof135(averageofprevalence3yearsofolderadultattendedtheoutpatientclinic
II.TechnicalDesign

Data pertinent to the study variables was collected through.

Tools of Data Collection:
First tool:
• An interviewing questionnaire for older adults patients was constructed by the investigator based on reviewing of related literature and expert opinions and was written in a simple Arabic language. This tool included the following parts.
(a) Socio-demographic characteristics of older adult regarding gender, age, marital status, job, level of education and monthly income.
(b) Assessment of older adult health status as regard hypertension, diabetes mellitus, strock,respiratory problem,cardiac diseases, renal disease, liver disease and osteoporosis .
(c) Assessment of older adult life style.
(d) Assessment older adult’s knowledge about factors causing accidents.
(e) Physio-functional assessment tool that was be adopted from Ebersol, et al. (2005) which cover all the activities of daily living.
