Abstract


Chronic renal failure represents a significant health problem worldwide resulting in the death of thousands and financial crisis for the children and their families.


Sick children with chronic renal failure under haemodialysis therapy had physical, psychological and social problems which affects their life style now and in the future as well as all family members. Therefore this work was carried out to assess physical and psychological problems of children under haemodialysis therapy.


The study was conducted at the Renal Dialysis Unit, Children Hospital of Ain Shams University. The study comprised 50 children having CRF, aged from 7-
18 years and attending the renal dialysis unit for
regular dialysis therapy.


Field of the work started from December 1996 up to
March 1997.
