Esraa Abdulelah Khadin;
Abstract
This study was under taken to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of colposcopy using RCI and to determine the degree of correlation between colposcopic impression and histopathology in early cancer detection unit in AIN SHAMS University.
The study included 50 patients (one patient excluded because of the presence of invasive disease n=49) referred to early cancer detection unit with various indications of colposcopy during the period between Dec 2016 and June 2017 in the colposcopy patient was given score according to RCI then biopsy was taken from suspicious site and was sent to histopathological examination.
21(42.85 %) was with complaint of post coital bleeding, 21 (42.85%) with complaint of recurrent vaginal bleeding, 4 (8.2%) postmenopausal bleeding and 3 (6.1%) patient complaint of positive pap smear.
The colposcopic impression using RCI was non neoplastic lesion in 19 (38.78%), low grade lesion in 23 (46.94%) and high grade lesion in 7 (14.29%) in compare to histopathological finding was non neoplastic lesion in 23 (46.94%), LSIL in 23 (46.94 %) and HSIL in 3 (6.12%)
Our study shows that there is significant fair
