COMPARATIVE STUDIES ON BEHAVIO-URAL PATTERNS, PRODUCTIVE AND REPRODUCTIVE PERFORMANCE OF SOME FRESH WATER FISHES

Abstract


Now a days the aquaculture of ornamental fishes and keeping of it has a

great important. There are a great variety of ornamental fish species, so this study was conducted to establish the ethogram for different behaviour patterns, and study the productive performance of the most common five ornamental fish species represented by three families. Family Belontidae: (Golden Gourami "Trichogaster Trichopterus"), Family: Cyprinidae (fantail Gold fish "Carassius auratus auratus") and Family: Poecilidae (Guppy "Poecillia Reticulata", White Molly" Poeci/ia sphenops "and Swordtail fish "Xiphophorus helleri ").The results was, establishment of ethogram including the description of the reproductive strategy for the different five species. With the study of the effect of food types on growth and performance of live bearers fish(Guppy, Molly and • Swordtail),Tubifex worms give positive effect on the brood size than flacks food.
