EVALUATION OF THE ROLE OF INSULIN-LIKE GROWTH FACTOR BINDING PROTEIN-I (IN FOLLICULAR FLIUD) IN OOCYTE MATURATION

WAEL IBRAHIM MOHAMMED IBRAHIM;

Abstract

Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein-!and honnonal profile offoll icular fluid samples aspirated from 20 infertile women undergoing ovulation induction protocol for IVF-ET program, and
1 0 fertile women under physiological conditions (controls).

In patient group, 13 patient underwent ICSI program, 7 underwent

TESE progran1; with success rate (pregnancy rate 50%).

Incidence of oocyte maturity in studied cases ·.vere 90% mature,

7.6% borderline and 2% immature.

Significant correlation was found between IGFBP-I and follicular estradiol and progesterone in both cases and controls (under physiological conditions) indicates that this factor plays an important role in Jolliculogcncsis and oocyte maturation.

Insignificant correlation between lGFBP-1 and women age indicates that age -during child bearing period- has no effect on this factor.

lnsignilicant correlation between this li1ctor and serum FSH &
1.11 indicates that this I Ictor plays it's role -affects and being affected- locally.
