Abstract
The blindness in children due to syndromes associated with retinal detachment is a great problem among ophthalmic diseases of children. These syndromes are classified to different groups according to the origin of the disorder .Also. these syndromes may be misdiagnosed with other causes of retinal detachment in children .There are importarit factors associated with familial retinal detachment which are axial myopia, attic degeneration of retina and cataract. The retinal detachment may be rhegmatogenous or tractional or exudative.
