Client’s Satisfaction Regarding Nurses’ Performance in Family Planning Centers in a Rural Community

Abstract
Assessing client’s satisfaction with nursing care is important in evaluation to determine clients’ needs. Family planning is essential to the achievement of Millennium Development Goals and nurses’ performances are reflected on client’s satisfaction. The study aimed to assess the client’s satisfaction regarding nurses' performance in family planning centers in a rural community. Design: descriptive study design. Setting: All centers of maternal and child health care at Quesna City at El-Menoufia Governorate. Total number of centers was 33.The sample Purposive sample was conducted, two samples used in the study, 150 clients were chosen randomly and all 66 nurses were taken. Tools: First tool was interviewing questionnaire to assess socio- demographic, family planning record, client’s knowledge, nurses’ knowledge and client’s satisfaction. Second tool was observation checklist to assess nurses’ performance. Results: the findings of the study showed that more than two –thirds of nurses had complete knowledge; more than half of nurses had satisfied counseling skills in family planning. As regard the majority of clients had poor knowledge, while over half of clients were satisfied regarding family planning services.
