Abstract


This study was conducted with the aim of assessing the impact of stressors on recently army recruited subjects and their psychiatric clinical presentations, as well as, Comparing socio-demographic and personality profiles of maladjusted patients with their peers in primary training centers during mandatory military service period.
The study consisted of two parts:
A. Theoretical Part:
This part consisted of a review of the literature on the subject of adjustment disorders in mandatory military service. It consistedof three chapters.
Chapter one: discussed military service; Definition, types of military service in different countries, challenges and threats of deploymentincluding; pre-deployment challenges and personal preparation, deployment challenges, environmental stressors, physiological stressors and cognitive Stressor.
Chapter two: reviewed adjustment disorder starting with the widely debated definition, passing through prevalence, riskfactors, diagnosis, suicidal
