One of the most common indication of performing ultrasound scanning during pregnancy is estimation of gestational age of the fetus which is very important in
many obstetric conditions.


Different parameters are used for estimating gestational age by ultrasound such as gestational sac volume, crown rump length [CRL], biparietal diameter [BPD], head circumference [HC], abdominal
• circumference [AC], femur length [FL] and inter­

orbital distance [IOD].
