Sensory Evaluation of Cases of Primary Comitant Exotropia
MAHA HASSAN EL BASHA;
Abstract
This work was designed in order to evaluate the sensory status of pati<:nts having primary comitant exotropia (intermittent and constant exotropia), whom were not subjected to any form of therapy before the time of the tirst examination.
All patients underwent a conventional and complete ocular examination to exclude patients having incomitant strabismus, or sensory exotropia, also patient having vertical incomitance were excluded.
All the patients were subjected to the following:
-History taking
-Cycloplegic refraction
-Best corrected visual acuity
-Measurement of the angle of strabismus at 0.33m and at 6m using the prism and alternate cover test, before and after patching of one eye for 45 minutes
-Measurement of the AC/A ratio using the gradient method
-Synoptophore for the detection of stereopsis
•.;
-Bagolini striated lens, for the assessment of the status of retina I
coiTespondence
-Worth's four- dot test for detection of suppression
