Analytical study of some quinolone containing drugs

Abstract

The thesis consisted of six parts: Part Ӏ: General Introduction It explained the nature of quinolones and fluoroquinolones, pharmacokinetics, clinical significance, mechanism of action and their classification. Part ӀӀ: Literature review This part included a review of the physical and chemical properties of the studied quinolones contining drugs, Ofloxacin (OFX), Moxifloxacin (MFX), Ciprofloxacin (CFX), Lomefloxacin (LMFX) and Danofloxacin (DFX). Also, it included different analytical methods reported in the literature that aimed for determination of the chosen drugs in pure form, pharmaceutical formulations and biological fluids. Part ӀӀӀ: Chromatographic determination of Ofloxacin Two high performance liquid chromatographic method were developed for determination of Ofloxacin. The first method is used for determination of a mixture of Ofloxacin, Dexamethasone and Benzalkonium chloride, while the second method is used for determination of a mixture of Ofloxacin, Cefixime and Ofloxacin Related compound A.
