GEOPHYSICAL IMPLICATIONS OF WELL LOGGING DATA ANALYSIS IN NORTH PALNYRA AREA (SYRIA, A. R.)

MAZEN YOUSEF AL KHATIB;

Abstract

The ann of present study is to apply statistical analysis techniques (first order statistics, correlation coefficient, factor, Fourier, multiple regression) on well logging data "GR-, SP-, DT-, LLD-, LLS-, Ph-, Well Jogging data of four wells (Twenan- I 01, Hrit-1,

AI Akram-1, and AI Hureia-1) located in North Palmyra area, Syria Arab Republic, between Latitudes 35°00'00" & 35°15'00" N, and the Longitudes 38°18'00" & 38°38'00" E, were used to conduct this study. The obtained results show the following:
a- There is a main synclinal feature striking the area along a North

West-South East direction.

b-The old tributaries of AI-Furat basin are present and may be drowned in the East direction.
c- Basement rocks of the basin-like structure reflects its imprints on

the sedimentation that having the same direction of Al-Furat river.

d- Probable two fault planes, having the same direction of the strike of the syncline, may formulate the basinal structure.
e-The thickness of sedimentary beds increases m North-Westem

direction which indicate the direction of sea regression.
