BIOCHEMICAL STUDY . ON THE ANDROGENS, CERVICAL MUCUS AS PROLIFRATIVE TESTS IN INFERTILITY

Saad Zaghloul Halisan;

Abstract

Abnormal cervical mucus quality and quantity is considered one of the causes of infertility which occurs only in 2-8% of infertile couples. Repeatedly negative postcoital tests are good indicator of cervical mucus sperm penetration problem. Androgens might exhibit a certain specific effect on cervical glands, so the influence on the mucus receptivity to sperm via changes of pH has to be taken into consideration in patients with elevated levels of androgens.
