Khalid Abdel Khalique Abdel Shafy Ghaith;

Abstract

Glaucoma fistulizing-filtering surgery is fraught with various complications for the simple reason that it is designed to interrupt the integrity of the globe creating external fistula That had led investigators to design alternative procedures in which the anterior chamber is not penetrated (non-penetrating surgeries), such as non-penetrating trabeculectomy, deep sclerectomy with collagen implant, viscocanalostom.y, and using reticulated hyaluronate implant; or directed to the site of pathology (trabecular surgeries) such as goniocurettage, trabecular aspiration, microendoscopic laser goniopuncture, and the intracanalicular trabeculostomy.
