Abstract


It is known that, narcotic addiction have become a serious international problem deeply affecting the world-wide communities from the health, social and economic points of
VIeW.


Hence, the present work was constructed for the evaluation and assessment of any dangerous impacts of such drugs on the body organs, symbolized by the most important organ, namely the liver in the white rats as one of the mammalian representatives. The liver was chosen in view of its vital role in the metabolism and detoxication of drug in general.


The narcotic drug used in the present investigation was, the most popular one, heroin, and the doses determined as 5, l 0 and 15 mg/kg b.wt.
