Abstract


Language is defined as an arbitrary symbolic
system that pairs sounds to meaning. It is the way of
normal communication in homo sapin sapin
Language comprises the following three major
aspects: form, content and function. Form includes
syntax, morphology and phonology, content includes
semantics, and lastly, function or use of language
includes pragmatics that consists of the goals of
language. Each of the above components is interrelated
with each other.
The Arabic language is spoken by more than 280
million people as a first language across the Middle
East and North Africa.
Dialectal Arabic (DA) is the spoken everyday
colloquial dialect that children in the different Arabicspeaking
communities acquire as their mother tongues.
DA is used side by side with Modern Standard Arabic
(MSA), the official language of the media and
education.
Egyptian Arabic is the language spoken by
contemporary Egyptians. It is more commonly known


locally as the Egyptian colloquial language or Egyptian
dialect.
