GILES COOPER'S DRAMATIC WORKS:. A DISCOURSE ANALYSIS OF THREE DRAMAS

NADIA AMIN HASSAN;

Abstract

This study deals with three dnunatic works by the British radio dramatist Giles Cooper ( 1918- .1966). Out of Cooper's collection Six Plays for Radio (1966) three plays were chosen for analysis in this study as they collectively represent the writer's vision of an individual in a difficult society and exemplify in their totality a unique way of dramatising isolation: Before the Monday, Under the Loofah Tree and The Disagreeable Oyster.
