SEISMIC RESPONSE OF BASE ISOLATED STRUCTURES
TAMER MOSTAFA MOHAMED EL-KORANY;

Seismic isolation consists essentially of installation of mechanisms that decouple the structure and or its contents from potentially earthquake induced ground or support motions. This decoupling is achieved by increasing the flexibility of the system, together with providing appropriate damping.
