Computational Intelligence techniques for image recognition A Thesis
Eman Tarek IbnZeyad Mohamed Abdelkader Mohamed;
Abstract
This thesis consists of the design, the implementation of new techniques for image inpainitng and completion.
The thesis is composed of seven chapters together with the table of contents, the list of figures and tables, the references and the list of publications.
The thesis contents are presented hereafter:
Chapter 1 presents the introduction to the thesis and displays the recent my motivation for working in this topic.
In Chapter 2, a brief literature survey of current state of art inpainting techniques is given. Also, a mathematical representation of the problem statement is illustrated along with a classification of the current techniques used in literature.
In Chapter 3, a brief discussion about image segmentation techniques in presented, a long with an illustration of some commonly used techniques. Then, some examples of inpainting techniques that employ scene segmentation are explained.
In Chapter 4 a new proposed algorithm is presented. First, the motivation behind the new algorithm is explained. Then the steps
of the algorithm are described along with the experimental results as well as a comparison with some techniques.
In Chapter 5 an introduction to 3D computer vision is explained.
It first provides a brief description to the mathematical representation for camera acquisition system. Then it shows how this can produce some important features in the captured like vanishing points and lines.
In Chapter 6 a new proposed image inpainting approach is described. First, the main idea of the technique is presented. Then the main procedures of the algorithm are described in details along with experiemtal results that prove the e_ciency of the algorithm.
Finally thesis conclusion and future work are presented in Chapter
7.
