Abstract

a total efficacy of 80%. None of the patients undergoing transvaginal U/S developed any attack of bleeding.

To conclude transvaginal and transperineal U/S can be considered as safe and accurate methods of diagnosis of

placenta previa. transabdominal visualization of transabdominal U/S. although significant.

However, the fact that they can replace U/S IS still questionable as the lower placental edge is still better in the U/S than transvaginal and transperineal the differences 1s not statistically

. i

The use of transvaginal and transperineal . I
sonography should be strongly considered when a definitive diagnosis of placenta previa is required and to confirm or exclude the results of pelvic U/S. In such cases transvaginal and transperineal U/S will usually show the internal surface of the cervix without overlying placental tissue, allowing confident exclusion of placenta previa.
