Abstract

This research was convemed with studying the response of some com genotypes to different types of fertilizers under upper Egypt conditions. The present study was carried out at Kom Ombo region by designing two experiments in the seasons· 2002 and 2003. Each experiment contained two variables distributed randomly in a split-plot design. The com genotypes, i.e. open-pollinated single cross 10 and Triple cross hybrid 310 were alloted in the main plots and fertilizer types i.e. 1- NPK, 2- NPK + Bio, 3- NPK +organic, 4- NPK + Bio +organic,
5- organic, 6- Bio7- Bio + orgaic, 8- without fertilizer (control), were in the sub-plots.

The results obtained in this respect could be summarized for each trait studied as follows:

1 - The NAR and RGR took the same trend of increasing these measurements from planting to plant age of 32-day from planting, then consistent decrease was noted up to the harvest three, then slight increase was recorded. The three way 310 was characterized by the maximum values in this respect. Using the three types of fertilizes favoured NAR.and RGR in the two growing seasons.

2 - Plant height at harvest reacted significantly among the com genotypes studied. The tallest plants were from triple-cross 310 followed by the single cross 10. Here too, the same variety had a great response in this respect to the three types of fertilizers.

3 - Number of leaves/plant differed significantly mong the com genotypes studied in favour of three way 310 followed by single cross 10. Fertilizing with the NPK + Biofertilizer +Organic fertilizer
