Abstract
The goals of preoperative assessment of cardiac patients undergoing cardiac surgery, are to define the risks, reduce the risks by correcting abnormalities or stabilizing the patient, and minimize the morbidity and mortality of surgery by developing a coordinated plan among all physicians and health care providers who will be involved in the intraoperative and postoperative care of the patient.
