Abstract
This study included 60 cases suffering from PEM

60 cases were classified into 35 males and 25 females.

This study showed 10 cases of underweight (16.6%), 15

(16.6%). The cases were subjected to: 1
• Microscopic examination of urine for pus cells.
• Bacterial count.
• Dip stick test:
- Nitrite test. - Leukocyte esterase test.
• Culture and sensitivity.
20 cases of 60 cases show:
• ;;::: 10 leukocyte/mm3 by microscopic examination of urine

• Prevalence of U.T.I. was 33.33%. Bacterial count ;:::100,000
CFU/ml.
