NON-LINEAR 3-D-FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF FIBROUS REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS

Ehab Abdul-Mageed Mohamed Ahmed Emam;

Abstract

The greet demand to new construction materials encouraged the use of steel fiber reinforced concrete. As these fibers added to concrete the behavior of the fibrous composite is changed. Investigations carried out in this study dealt with the behavior of fibrous reinforced concrete beams under concentrated loads. An experimental program explained in chapter 4, was executed to investigate the behavior of the fiber reinforced concrete beams containing different ratios of steel fiber (HAREX) and subjected to concentrated loads. The first cracking loads, Failure load, deflection and strain values at different loading stages were recorded as well as the crack propagation patterns for the tested beams. The tested beams consists of four beams to obtain the modulus of rupture of the fibrous concrete, four beams with different fiber volume fractions but without stirrups, and four beams with different fiber volume fractions with stirrups.
