Evaluation of Static and Dynamic Postural Control in Cerebral Palsied Children
Zeinab Ahmed Hussien;
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate static and dynamic postural control in right hemiplegic cerebral palsied children. The study was perfonned on 30 children, I 5 of them were
nonnal volunteers and other
15 were right spastic hemiplegic cerebral
palsied children, the age of children was ranging from 7 to I 0 years. Static and dynamic postural control was evaluated for nonnal and hemiplegic CP children during standing on especial tilting board, to evaluate motor synergies during static position (static postural control), then during reaching with maximum abducted ann (dynamic postural control). Every child was videotaped from both frontal and lateral views. The images of videotape were analyzed by computer program, (AutoCAD) aiming to measure motor synergies during postural control which arc head, trunk, arm and leg counter balancing reaction. The results of evaluation revealed significant differences in motor synergies during static and dynamic postural control between normal and hemiplegic CP children fi•om frontal view and lateral views. Also there was a sig11ificant difference in motor synergies occurred during postural control (static and dynamic) between both left sides of both normal and right hemiplegic CP children.
