"Effect of N-acetyl cysteine and L-carnitine on carbon tetrachloride-treated rats"
Moustafa Fathy Ramadan;
Abstract
Infection with HCV has become one of the most important public health problems in Egypt. Also, infection with HCV is considered now not only one of the major public health problems, but also as a source of social panic for patients and their contacts, this may be due to exaggerated interventions by mass media, and failure of currently used drugs in treatment of HCV. The most serious complication of chronic hepatitis C is the development of cirrhosis. Cirrhosis is a potentially lethal condition for which there is no proven effective therapy. There are many genotypes of HCV with considerable geographic variations in their prevalence: In Egypt HCV genotype 4 account for 94% of cases.
