ROLE OF MRI IN THE EVALUATION OF THE CORONARY ARTERY DISEASES

OSAMA LABIB GOMAA;

Abstract

MR CA provides a non-invasive approach for the screening assessment of the CAD. Moreover, MR CA may be combined with perfusion & function MRI to provide a comprehensive cardiac evaluation. In addition, it shows high reproducibility, accuracy in a reasonable time without irradiation & contrast medium.
Free-breathing ECG gated 3D MR CA resulted in an improved

CNR between CA and myocardium and thereby allowed for better definitjon of the CA. Visually assessed vessel anatomy as well as diffuse and focal coronary artery disease correlated well with x
ray angiographic findings.
