Abstract

If deoxy ribonucleic acid (DNA) represents the code of life, protein represents the life. Studying of the protein is one of the most important sciences of living systems. It does not stop in just determining the chemical structure of a certain protein but it exceed this simple level to more accurate and complex levels until it reaches the 3D structure for each protein, Which determines the position of each atom in the protein. Proteins have three different levels of 3D structural formations which without them the protein cannot do its function. The three structural levels as follows:
1- Primary structure represents only the simple sequences of the amino acids bonded to each other through a covalent bond called peptide bond and represents the translations of the genes on the DNA in a thread like structure of amino acids
2- Secondary structure originated because the reaction of the successive amino acids of different chemical and physical properties with each other and with surrounding medium. It has three forms α-helix, β-sheet and C-coil established by hydrogen bonds.
3- Tertiary structure in this structure the secondary structure three forms are bonded to each other through the whole protein
