Essam Moftamad El-Sayed Ali Khalil;

Abstract

Present study was canied out for four growing seasons, from 1994/95- 1997/98 under plastichouse, to study the inheritance of some plant traits, yield and some fruit characteristics of pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) though use of triple-test cross (TTC). Three crosses were used; i.e., (I) GS X Long Red Cayenne (LRC), (2) Peperone di Guneo (PG) X LRC, and (3) El-Paso (EP) X LRC to get TTC families ;i.e., L,;,lo; and L3;. Studied traits; i.e., plant height in the crosses I and 3, chlorophyll in the cross 2, early yield, number of fruits/plant, total yield/plant and fruit length and number ofloculeslfruit in all crosses, and fruit width in cross
3, exhibited heterosis.
