Abstract
The present study was conducted to investigate the detoxifying effects of three antimycotoxins feed additives as follows: Hydrated sodium calcium aluminumsilicate (HSCAS) 0.10%, Saccharomyces cervisiea (SC) 0.025% and prebiotics : estrified glucomannan (EGM) 0.025%. Two hundred and forty, 1- day-old Cobb broiler chicks were assigned into 8 groups with 3 replicates. The trial was divided into 2 stages:
The first intoxication period for 21 days and second withdrawal period for 14
days.
Results obtained showed the following results
• HSCAS significantly improved (P<0.50) all tested parameters (general performance, blood proteins, liver enzyme and geometric mean of ill antibody titers for ND and AI viruses) when compared with positive control group.
• Estrified glucomannan significantly improved (P<0.50) the general performance but there was no effect on blood albumin, GPT and HI titers for AI virus when compared with positive control group.
• Saccharomyces cervisiea had no positive effect on any parameters (general performance, blood protein, liver enzyme and m antibody titers for ND and AI viruses) when compared with positive control group.
• On the other hand these additives from 1 - 21 days of age had no positive effect on any previously mentioned parameters.
In the second stage from 21- 35 days-old all treatments including aflatoxins were withdrawn from all groups (clearance period) and investigations showed that:
• There was a remarkable improvement in body weight, body weight gain, feed conversion rate, mortalities, blood albumin, GPT, geometric mean of HI titers for AI virus and relative weight of liver in aflatoxicated birds (group 4).
The first intoxication period for 21 days and second withdrawal period for 14
days.
