Abstract


The paper clarifies the different aspects of Indoor environmental quality (IEQ), its implementation through different design stages, its different design guides and evaluation systems and finally its role in affecting occupant’s well-being, comfort and productivity through displaying extensive review of literature concerning the indoor environmental quality specifically in the office and administrative buildings. A range of building design deficiencies and occupant’s symptoms that appears due to poor indoor air quality, thermal comfort, visual comfort and acoustic comfort are considered in this paper.
