Abstract

This work was done on

60 subjected divided into 15 healthy

children served as control group and 45 IDDM children, they represented diabetic patients these in turn divided into, Group I: 22 recent IDDM children and, Group II: 23 IDDM children was chronic

vur results •revealed a highly significant increase of plasma ANP in IDDM children comparing its level iii control group. Significant increase of ANP level in chronic IDDM children compared its level in'recent IDDM childen

There was highly significant increase in serum sodium, blood urea, creatinine, creatinine clearance, blood pressure and Insulin.

Positive significant correlation were observed between ANP and sodium, post prandial blood glucose, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, kidney function tests (creatinine, urea, and creatinine clearance) and sodium. Negative significant correlation between ANP and insulin in all IDDM children in this study.

Negative non-significant correlation between ANP and albumin, total protein.
