GEO-ENVIRONMENTAL STUDY IN MARSA ALAM AREA BETWEEN LAT. (25° 00' -25° 30') AND LONG. (34° 30'-35° 00')

Abstract

The aim of the study i s to evaluate the main geo_environmental aspects in the area and giving guides and recommendations for the suitable decisions to su pport sustainable development of the study area. It aims also to study the benefits of the integration between remote sensing and geographic information systems in evaluati ng the geo_environmental problems The study is including the geologic, topographic, geochemical, geophysical, meteorological, and remotely sensed data in GIS environment. It also incl udes some GIS analysis for the study area. The study introduced the meteorologic data of the study area. The Meteorological data used and plotted represented the data acquired from the nearest two stations (Quseir and Ras Banas) include the Following: maximum and minimum average temperatures, humidity, average rainfall, maximum rainfall, the average atmospheric pressure, the average vapor pressure and the average rate of sunshine.
