Abstract

Tropane is an important class of alkaloids found in many natural resources especially, Solanaceae, Erythroxylaceae, and Convolvulaceae plant families. The tropane moiety demonstrates a versatile tool than can be manipulated by varying substituent groups resulting in wide range of various pharmacological activities that found application in the pharmaceutical field throughout decades. Naturally occurring tropane alkaloids as atropine, scopolamine, anisodamine and cocaine are well characterized for their pharmacological activities and some of them are available in market. The pharmacological properties of pervilleines are still under investigation for potential development as multidrug resistant modulator. Inspired by these naturally occurring alkaloids many synthetic derivatives have been introduced so as to enhance activity, reduce adverse effects and exploring new pharmacological properties.
In this study, 3,4-diaryl-11-methyl-7-[(aryl)methylidene]-4,5,11-triazatricyclo [6.2.1.0*2,6*] undec-5-enes were designed and synthesized at the aim of developing tropane based antiproliferative comp
