Abstract


Breast cancer is most prevalent and is the leading cause of cancer related deaths among women worldwide. The early and accurate diagnosis of breast cancer is crucial for successful treatment and to improve the quality of life. There are several imaging modalities for diagnosis of breast lesions. The commonest are mammography and ultrasonography. Breast tissue microcalcifications observed radiologically are frequently employed as a marker for breast pathology type as they can act as a strong differentiator between benign and malignant breast lesions and as an indicator of the presence of an early breast cancer. There are a lot of factors that consider to be related to malignant breast cancer. Simply being a woman is the main risk factor for developing breast cancer. This is probably because men have less of the female hormones estrogen and progesterone, which can promote breast cancer cell growth.
