Abstract

Islam Nashaat Salah El-Din Mousa "Analog and mixed signal lay-
out design automation", Master of Science dissertation, Ain Shams
University, 2017.
This thesis presents an automatic matched devices layout generation tool for
any number of transistors or capacitors. An adapted form of genetic optimization
is used to minimize the overall systematic mismatch due to oxide
gradients and STI e ect. Results show that very low mismatches are obtained
in a few seconds for moderate sized arrays. The analog design usually su ers
from a loop of iterations mainly due to the added interconnect parasitic and
the mismatch e ects in the layout. Accordingly, the chip speci cations may
di er after fabrication than the results simulated by the designer. Moreover,
the complexity of the analog layout design became a bottle-neck in the Deep
Sub-Micron technology nodes. For these reasons the proposed ow was developed
to ful ll the urgent need to have a fast, exible, reliable and technology
independent analog layout design automation tools.
