The Effect of an E-tivities-Based Program onDeveloping English Oral Proficiency for Modern Academy Students

Abstract
The present study investigated the effect of an e-tivities based program on developing English oral proficiency for computer science students. Participants of the study were sixty (N=60) of the 1st year computer science students at Modern Academy for Computer Science and Management Technology in Maadi, Cairo, Egypt. Participants were randomly divided into two groups; an experimental group and a control one. Instruments of the study included a pre post-test in English oral proficiency, a checklist of oral proficiency components, an oral proficiencyrubric, and a program based on e-tivities.Scores obtained through the application of the program were analyzed by using t test, Pearson correlation, and Eta Square. Results revealed that the experimental group students significantly surpassed the control group students on the post-test of oral proficiency. Pedagogical implications, recommendations, and suggestions for further research were presented.
