Studies on inactivated oil FMD vaccine

Abstract


This study was carried out as an attempt to improve the iinmunogenicity of the locally produced inactivated foot and mouth disease vaccine .


This study was summerized in three main items as follow:­
Firstly:- Adjuvants.
There are six types of adjuvants have been used in this study .
A- Double oil emulsion (Marcol 52 with Arlacel A)
B- Double oil emulsion (Marcol 52 with a new emulsifier span 80- Alhydragel .
D- Aluminium hydroxide gel .
E- Quil A.
F- Saponin.


Secondly :-Viral protein.
Three concentrations of viral protem of 01 virus have been used
m this study .
(1ug, 2ug and 4ug viral protem per 2ml oil vaccmes respectively)




Thirdly:- Viral strams of01virus
Three viral strams have been used 01 Manisa Turkey, 01BFS England and OJ2172 Egypt .
The effect of these items was assayed through eight major
experiments :-
1- Evaluation of oil, Alhydragel, Alummium hydoxide, Quil A
and saponin .


2- Testing and Evaluation of FMD vaccines prepared from different adjuvants by safety, sterility and potency .
