Abstract
The present study included 75 patients with stage III non-small cell lung cancer of different pathologic subtypes, treated in Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine Department, Ain Shams University Hospitals from September 1998 till October 2000.
In the present study patient's age ranged from 25 to 70 years.
The peak age incidence was encountered in the late 5'h decade and early 6'h decade. Males were more affected than females with male to female ratio of 5.3 to 1.
Clinically, cough was the most common presenting symptom (30 patients 40%), followed by haemoptysis (21 patients 28%), then chest pain (13 patients 17.3%).
According to karnofsky scale, 1 patient (1.3%) was found to have scale 100, 5 patients (6.7%) with scale 90, 17 patients (22.7%) with scale 80, and the majority 32 patients (42.7%) with scale 70, while 20 patients with scale 60.
