Abstract
The study was conducted to clarify the role played by C. perfringens as a cause of enteritis and diarrhoea in newborn calves as well as the immune status in calves fed colostrum from non vaccinated and vaccinated dams against the organism and the role played by the passively transferred antibodies on the morbidity rate and the isolation of such organism from these calves.
A htecal sample and blood sample ror serum separation was taken hom each of 344 calves aging between birth to 4 month of age. •rhese calves were belonging to large dairy farms representing 3 governorates in Egypt namely Behaira, Fayolnn and Kafl• EI-Sheikh .
