Adaptability and Bond Strength of Newly Introduced Propolis Based Sealer
Dalia Abou Moslem Attia;
Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate push out bond strength and adaptability of EWT sealer (ZnOEbased ), AH Plus sealer and Propolis based sealer (newly introduced resin based sealer).
Regarding push out bond strength , a total 60 maxillary central incisors were used in this study .Teeth were décoronated , cleaned and shaped using Protaper rotary system till size F#4. The canals irrigated with 5.25% NaOCl after each instrument used. Irrigation was carried out by delivering 5milliliters of the irrigant using a 27 gauge needle between each succeeding file . After completion of the root canal preparation the canals were rinsed by using 3 milliliters 17% EDTA solution for 30 seconds EDTA using a 27 gauge needle. The final rinse with isotonic saline solution using a 27 gauge needleto remove any remnants of the irrigating solutions,then the canals dried by using paper points and the teeth were kept moist all times by soaking them in saline soaked gauze till obturation. Samples were divided in to three groups
Group(I): 20 teeth obturated using Guttapercha- Propolis based sealer .
Group(II): 20 teeth obturated using Guttapercha- AH Plus sealer.
Group (III): 20 teeth obturated using Guttapercha – EWT sealer.
