Assessment of optimum stent deployment: comparison between intravascular ultrasound and Stent Boost Imaging Study guided by Experts Opinion

Abstract

The IVUS was still gold standard method to evaluate the stent apposition and deployment. Despite different techniques and modalities need to evaluate the stent deployment still unable to get the results the same as IVUS. In this study we were comparing the different modalities guided by expert opinion for evaluation of the stent deployment and to show the operator satisfaction about the results. Despite these QCA angiographically and stent boost measurements the results were not satisfactory regarding both stent measures and operator satisfaction. The measures of stent boost were approaching the results of IVUS but still the IVUS has better results. Take home message: IVUS is the gold standard technique in evaluation of stent deployment despite two different modalities guided by two operators in evaluation of the stents and regarding operator satisfaction by results and usage is important to avoid routine post stent dilatation and avoid mal-deploye
