Abstract


Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a chronic condition in which reflux of stomach contents causes troublesome symptoms and/or complications . The disease can present in terms of a range of esophageal and extraesophageal syndromes, but its cardinal symptoms are heartburn and regurgitation. It is increasingly recognized that such symptoms can be severely detrimental to health-related quality of life (HRQOL), disrupting.
Patients' daily lives in terms of physical, social and emotional well-being.
Nursing management of patient with GERD is important. The nurses must have a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of care patient with GERD and areas requiring special attention would be important to reduce the complications arising from diagnostic procedure.
Aim of the Study
This study aimed to assess nurses role regarding care of patients with gastro- esophageal reflux through the following:
1. Assessing patients needs with gastro-esophageal reflux.
