Influence of Framework Design on Debonding of Resin Bonded Fixed Partial Denture Using Different Metal Surface Treatments

Amira Yehia Amin Mohammed;

Abstract

This in vitro study was to determine the effect of basic bridge designs of anterior resin bonded fixed partial dentures:
1- Fixed fixed RBFPDs
2- Cantilever RBFPDs
And added retentive mean: (palatal pit)
On debonding of metal frameworks with different metal surface treatments:
1- Air borne particle abrasion.
2- Air borne particle abrasion with primer.
3- Tribochemical coating (cojet).
In this vitro study typhodont teeth were used and the four preparation designs of resin bonded fixed partial dentures replacing maxillary lateral incisor were made.
The preparations were done using AF 30 milling machine for standardization, parallelism and adjustment of path of insertion using a tapered diamond stone with round end 0.5mm in diameter resulting in a 0.5mm supragingival chamfer finish line (1mm away from the free gingival margin of the tooth in the cast).
