Abstract
This study was carried out in the physiology laboratory of the
Department of Poultry Production, Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams
University in 1998.
The purpose of the present study was 1- to investigate the effect of
ovarian hormones on the development of the reproductive tract of female Japanese quail, 2- to assess the effect of administration of estrogen and progesterone singly or in combination on the function of the quail oviduct as measured by total, soluble proteins and 3-. to examine histologically the tubular gland cells of the magnum and shell gland of the oviduct.
