Abstract
Cotton is one of the most important fibers used in textile industry, as it had valued characterization as durability, strength and high absorption of humidity and dye solution, which makes cotton more comfortable. However, shrinkage and crease recovery are among its disadvantages, which led to blend cotton fibers synthetic fibers, like polyester fibers to provide a better appearance with fewer tendencies to crease recovery.
On other hand, it is important to introduce new cotton varieties of different categories especially long and extra-long staple cotton varieties, which have the attributes of high yield, disease resistance, earliness and high quality.
The new varieties of Egyptian cotton such as: G86, G89 for long staple cotton and G87, G88 for extra-long staple cotton.
Ring spinning is the oldest and most versatile method of converting staple fibers into yarns. Although, it was subjected to tremendous changes in production rates and automation, but
. the actual ring spinning process still represents the bottleneck because of its lower rate of productivity and higher costs. AB of today the open-end spinning is one of the techniques which is characterized with higher rates of production and lower costs. The future trends of developing open-end rotor spinning technology were directed towards increasing rotor speed and producing more finer yarns.
Accordingly, the main objective of this study was to produce of a new varieties Egyptian cotton/ polyester blends with different spinning system such as ring spinning (R.S) and open-end spinning (OE) and to study the effect of such new
